Nivea

Woman's Weekly / 16th May 1969

Make up your own jokes. However, I use Nivea myself nowadays to keep my face all soft and that. And for NOTHING ELSE.

I want to know how old she is now. Something lost in time.

I love nivea and I do use it on my face and arms and elbows. My legs are very long so I’d need an industrial sized tub for there!

In an era before we adolescents of the sixties had even heard of KY Jelly, me and my compatriots used to steal Nivea (in little flat tins) from our respective mother’s dressing tables, to use as lubricant in our boarding school based, teenage homosexual activities. I am not making this up. The sixties had an ethos all of its own.. and randy pubescent lads, some gay and some just going through a phase, had to adopt, adapt and improve what was available…

This is possibly the best comment I’ve ever had :)

My mother didn’t use Nivea as she said it irritated her skin. Given this point, I rather worry about Kif’s earlier use of it as lube! Perhaps the irritation just added to the excitement of the proceedings… :-D
