The fun of being thin...

Woman's Realm: 18th March 1967

Oh, piss off.

Have you ever tasted this shit? I don't know whether they still make them - and if so whether they've improved the formula - but pre-1990 it was the most disgusting, chemically saccharine flavour under this earth. And I suspect that it was her later-life addiction to Hermesetas (3 in a small cup of tea) that killed my Nan at the age of 73. Her chronic diabetes was merely a cover story.

Vile product. Vile advert. Simply vile.

Is that calorie-free booze she's drinking there?

Do you want to look like a scrawny crane surrounded by oily perverts? Then use Hermesetas.

It's the weird flower-type things placed strategically on the nips that do it, isn't it? My mum used Hermasetas at one point, but I've always been a bit wary of artificial sweetner, to be honest. I prefer to train myself to do without sugar, although I will succumb to sugar in coffee when I'm tired.

I like the supercilious look on her face best of all.

"Ooh, group sex tonight! I love Hermesetas!" She probably ate nothing else...

My gran used Hermasetas freely the whole time I knew her, and also died at 73. She was also rather overweight. And it tasted absolutely rancid. What gives??? Did they put crack in it to get people addicted, or what?

Presumably your gran used the same tactic as some people who live on fatty food, but who drink diet drinks! Obviously, it takes a bit more than Hermasetas to lose weight, which does make me think these products do nothing but lull people into a false sense of security.

Bitter tasting unlike the sweetners of today. If i remember right the tin was blue with white writing on and you had to slide it to get the tablets out. i remember mum using these an knew what they were when i was young so decided to have a taste, Not nice.
