Woman's Realm: 18th March 1967
And there was me thinking that Vaseline had only started making other products recently! I rather like this ad, as it's not often women in Sixties ads are displayed in positions of power: even if she IS sewing up his trousers. I suspect there was an alternative shot of her winking to camera...
On the subject of other products, Vaseline Hair Tonic was responsible for that patent-leather hair shine as seen on all good Hollywood stars of the 1920s. It sounds as though the product was simply a thinner version of the normal petroleum jelly: Anita Garvin once spoke of the tonic in her hair starting to smoke when she stood too close (ie within 20 feet) of an arc lamp at Hal Roach studios circa 1927.
Blimey. Woe betide any man who tried to run his fingers through HER hair...
wow only 4 hair types... how simple life was
She can handle anything but her dog apparently. Such blatant lies printed on the photographic evidence!
Mustn't make a prick in the arse joke! MUST... RESIST!
