Take Your Pick!

Woman's Realm: 1st April 1967

Oh, this ice cream looks *great*. 3 big helpings for only 1/6, too! That's only 7.5 new pence! *consults currency converter* Oh.

Is that 1 shilling and 6 pence? If so it's about a quid in today's money, which sounds alright to me! The Strawberry Fayre looks amazing.

Ah, I was using the National Archives' converter, which reckons it's around 3 quid! Not sure what they're basing that on, though. I want all three flavours. Now.

I used the same converter and it came out to less than a quid, so I dunno. But Battenberg ice-cream? YES.

I'm not discounting my own incompetence, so you may well be right. In which case: bargain!

I I recall rightly a shilling is 1/20th of a pound so that would equate to 7.5p however that didn't match how prices worked so with inflation about a quid makes more sense , Besides Raspberry Ripple. Food of teh Gods.
